Technical problems forces shutdown at Keiyo Ethylene’s naphtha cracker

A technical glitch has forced a shutdown at Japanese petrochemical company Keiyo Ethylene’s 690,000 tpa naphtha cracker. Keiyo Ethylene, 55%-owned by unlisted Maruzen Petrochemical, is investigating the cause, and the restart schedule is currently unclear. Mitsui Chemicals and Sumitomo Chemical each hold 22.5% stake in the company.
