National Petrochemical PCL (NPC.TH), a Thai olefins producer, will increase its ethylene cracker capacity at a new plant - set to begin operations in 2009 - to 1 million metric tpa from 410,000 tpa planned earlier. The plant will be built by PTT Polyethylene Ltd., a 50:50 joint venture between National Petrochemical and its parent PTT PCL (PTT.TH), and will also produce 300,000 tpa of LDPE.
