The technical polymers business of the Celanese Corporation, Ticona, which achieved sales of about $863 million in 2004, is to concentrate its distributor sales efforts through Entec and Channel Prime Alliance. It will continue its direct sales activities unaffected in its effort to streamline the distribution of its engineering thermoplastics in North America even though it shall no longer be represented by GE Plastics.
This realignment is estimated to affects Ticona resins such as, Celcon® acetal copolymer, Celanex® polybutylene terephthalate, Impet® polyethylene terephthalate, Vandar® thermoplastic polyester blends, Riteflex® thermoplastic elastomer, Celstran® long fiber reinforced thermoplastic, Fortron® polyphenylene sulfide, Vectra® liquid crystal polymer and Topas® cyclic olefin copolymer.
