Toray Advanced Materials mulls expansion of polypropylene spunbond at Indonesian facility

22-Dec-14
Toray Advanced Materials Korea is planning to expand production of polypropylene (PP) spunbond at its facility in Tangerang, Indonesia to 37,000 tpa. The planned expansion is part of the company's strategy to cater to the increasing demand in Asia and emerging countries, due to longer-life and an increasing demand for adult diapers. The expanded plant is scheduled to go on-stream in September 2016. Toray has been expanding its PP spunbond production capacities in Korea, China and Indonesia. The company said it will work together with global hygiene product manufacturers to increase sales in emerging markets such as China and ASEAN countries. Toray is scheduled to start operations of a new production line at its production plant in China, Toray Polytech (Nantong), later this month, as per chemicals-technology.com
