Turkey's Petkim and Iran's NPC reach agreement on petrochem plant in Iran

Turkish Petrochemical Holding Corp. (Petkim) has reportedly reached an agreement with Iran's National Petrochemical Company (NPC) to construct a petrochemical plant for production of methanol and polyethylene in Iran. Petkim is jointly owned by the Turkish energy company Turcas and the Azerbaijani state-owned State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). The plant is slated to have methanol capacity of 1.65 mln tpa and polyethylene capacity of 300,000 tpa.
