Ukrainian polymer maker Karpatneftekhim is expected to relaunch production of PE and SPVC this spring, reports local business daily Capital. The firm, which is an offshoot of Russia’s oil company Lukoil, halted output in late 2013, as per European Plastics News.
A representative of Lukoil in the Ukrainian marke-. Chmyhalov said that the recent decrease in the price of oil is a solid incentive for the development of the refining and petrochemical industry in Europe and Ukraine, and also one of the major reasons behind the planned relaunch.
The manufacturer is the only producer of PE and SPVC in the Ukrainian plastics market. Karpatneftekhim has an output capacity of some 300,000 tpa of SPVC, and 110,000 tpa of PE. The company operates a production facility in Kalush, in western Ukraine.
