Victrex's British manufacturing site certified to ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management

Victrex, the high performance polymer solutions provider, is now certified according to ISO 14001:2004 for its environmental management system at its British manufacturing site. The certificate issued by the certification body, Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, covers the manufacture of VICTREX® PAEK compounded pellets consisting of polymers and fillers from the production of pellets to dispatch. Victrex is an innovative world leader in polyaryletherketones (PAEK), including VICTREX PEEK. The company produces its high performance plastics exclusively in Great Britain at its corporate headquarters in the northwest of England. The ISO 14001 standard sets requirements for an environmental management system which are recognized worldwide. Its international version was published in November 2004 (ISO 14001:2004). “This certification is a significant achievement and reinforces our commitment to being a sustainable and environmentally-conscious business. Along with many of our customers, we too believe in the importance of maintaining a verifiably effective environmental management system for our supply chain,” explains Simon Evans, Global Safety Health & Environment Manager at Victrex. “One example would be lighter aircraft designs enabled by our PAEK polymer compounds. Lighter aircraft save fuel costs while simultaneously lowering their carbon footprint resulting in a reduced environmental impact.”
