Higher consumption of beverages and summer foods during the hot spell in Europe is supporting demand for polyethylene terephthalate and its feedstock purified terephthalic acid, as per industry sources in Platts.
With ongoing difficulties with PTA supplies in the Mediterranean, there was more room for other PTA producers to ramp up production to take advantage of the healthier offtake, sources said.
