Work resumes at MRPL after 10 day break

30-Apr-12
After a 10 day shutdown forced due to lack of water supplies, Mangalore Refineries and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) resumed production on Friday. In the days of the shutdown, MRPL is estimated to have suffering a loss of Rs 200 crore. On Friday, the company has started working at 60% of its 15 mln tpa plant. MRPL has started production following the Karnataka high court ordering the Mangalore City Corporation to release 2 mln gallons/day (MGD) of water from Wednesday, following which the plant has started production.
