Zhongjing Petrochemical has started commercial production of its Phase I polypropylene production with a nameplate p capacity of 350,000 mtpa (actual capacity could reach 400,000 mtpa). The unit is running around 50% of the capacity for homo PP raffia T30S, and products are mainly to be distributed to local Fujian producers.
Zhongjing Petrochemical, located in Fuqing of Fujian province, is a subsidiary of China Soft Packaging Group, China’s largest BOPP producer. The project is of total investment of 15 bln RMB, accommodated with a LNG terminal and warehouse of 5 mln mt storage capacity for propylene and propane. The detailed information concerning Zhongjing's second phase is not confirmed. The company plans a complete startup by the year of 2017.
