The Plastics Export Promotion Council (Plexconcil) is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Vikram Bhadauria as its new Chairman. With a vision to guide the council into a new era of growth and opportunity, Mr. Bhadauria steps into this role with extensive international experience and a bold strategic plan for the future of Indian plastics exports.

In an interview about his new appointment, Mr. Bhadauria emphasized his vision for the council's future: “I would like for the Plexconcil to become a self-sustaining body and maintain its image as the apex organization for plastic manufacturers in India. The current geopolitical situation presents a unique opportunity for India, where economies worldwide are diversifying their supply chains under the ‘China plus one’ philosophy. I aim to position India as that crucial ‘plus one’.”

As the global plastic industry undergoes transformation, Mr. Bhadauria expressed his plans to align the council's mission with these shifting dynamics. “Plastic is integral to both developing and developed economies, playing a role in everything from infrastructure to medical equipment. My goal is to identify and target the right markets, bringing the most suitable technologies and products to countries based on their economic status. This will help boost Indian exports significantly.”

Discussing long-term goals for the council, Mr. Bhadauria underscored the importance of brand perception in international trade. “While it’s hard to put a value on brand perception, it plays a critical role in commanding a premium in export markets. One of our key objectives is to improve the global perception of Indian plastic products while ensuring that these products reach international markets as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.”

With a wealth of experience gained from extensive travel across the globe, Mr. Bhadauria is confident that his leadership will pave the way for new partnerships and growth opportunities.
“Having met people in the plastics industry from Africa to the US to Europe, I’ve gained valuable insights into diverse markets. My goal is to use these experiences to help the council expand its reach and strengthen old and new relationships, ultimately driving the industry forward.”

Under his leadership, the Plastics Export Promotion Council is poised to achieve significant growth, aiming for Indian plastic exports to reach $24-25 billion by 2027.

Mr. Sachin Shah, also took over his role as the new Vice Chairman of the council during the 69th Annual General Meeting.
