2-3 week time lag in restart of Shanghai Secco's SM, ACN units

19-Sep-11
Shanghai Secco Petrochemical's styrene monomer (SM) and acrylonitrile (ACN) plants could take an additional two to three weeks to restart after they were shut September 8, as per Platts. The company shut all its production units following a fire at a tank farm, and force majeure was declared on SM and ACN supply. Repairs are underway at the 650,000 tpa SM plant and 260,000 tpa ACN plant.
