70% of Octal’s sales from PET plant will be to USA, Europe in 2012

Oman's Octal Petrochemicals sees 70% of the products from its 927,000 tpa capacity polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plant in Salalah heading to the US and Europe in 2012. The rest of the production will head to Asia and meet domestic requirements in Oman, as per Platts. The Omani company produces 400,000 tpa of PET. A second phase expansion due to be completed in June 2012 will add an additional 527,000 tpa capacity to the plant making it the largest single site PET production facility in the world.
