As inventories continue to pile up, 4 petrochemical producers in Indonesia, namely PT Chandra Asri, PT Titan Petrochemical, PT Tri Polyta, and PT Politama, may soon terminate operations. Oversupply has been caused by dismal demand in the continent, particularly China, causing an estimated 90,000 tons of polyethylene and polypropylene to pile up in the four producer's warehouses. Inability to liquidate stocks within the next fortnight could cause the producers to halt production.
