Unigel, Brazilian petrochemical group, plans to invest US$44 mln (100 mln reais) in 2009 in capacity increase and upgradation at its Estireno do Nordeste plant, at the Camaçari petrochemical hub in Bahia state.
Company plans to increase ethylbenzene capacity by 80,000 tpa to 260,000 tpa by end-2009 and styrene production from 160,000 tpa to 240,000 tpa by end-2010. Unigel also plans to increase production capacity of
acrylates, methacrylates and sulfates in Bahia.
