Daelim inks agreement with Maaden for caustic soda and EDC project in Jubail

Daelim Industrial has inked an agreement with Sahara Petrochemicals and Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden) for a caustic soda and ethylene dichloride project in Jubail Industrial City. This is a 50:50 joint venture between Sahara PCC and Ma’aden, using German UHDE technology. The plant will capacity to produce 250,000 tpa of high grade sodium hydroxide and 300,000 tpa ethylene dichloride. Daelim will begin with preliminary work for the US$750 mln (SAR 2.812 bln) project in the Sahara PCC complex. The project is funded through bank loans and a loan from Saudi Industrial Development Fund. The construction of the project will be completed in Q4-2012.
