Dow and Shenhua commences construction on US$10 bln coal-to-chemical project after a one year delay

After the project was delayed for about a year, Dow Chemical Co and Shenhua Group, China's largest coal miner, have decided to make progress on the US$10 bln coal-to-chemical project in Shaanxi province. The complex facilities will comprise 23 units that include a 3.32 mln tpa methanol facility for ethylene and propylene. A feasibility study has cleared the initial details, and an application is to be made for approval from the central government.
