India's Punjab-based refinery extends start-up date to Feb 2012

India's 9 mln mtpa refinery commissioned in Punjab-Guru Gobind Singh Refineries Ltd (GGSRL) has extended the expected start date by one year to February 2012. The HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd JV promoted project worth Rs.18,900 cr was earlier expected to kick off operations in Feb 2011. The project is proposed to produce polypropylene, food - grade hexane and solvents in addition to LPG, naphtha, petrol, diesel aviation, fuel and will make Bhatinda (project site) leading petrochem focal points in the continent.
