Brahmaputra Cracker & Polymer Ltd (BCPL), a petrochemical JV between GAIL (India), Oil India Ltd (OIL), Nimbrugarh Refineries Ltd (NRL) and Govt. of Assam, has confirmed its license providers for the polyethylene and polypropylene projects at its integrated Lepetkata petrochem plant in Dibrugarh district of Assam. The license provider for BCPL's LLDPE/HDPE swing unit is UK's INEOS Technology while for its polypropylene unit is Germany's Lummus Technologies.
GAIL (India) hold 70% equity in BCPL while the remaining stake is shared equally among OIL, NRL and Govt. of Assam. Feedstock for the project is already safegusarde by making gas supply agreements with Oil India and ONGC and the term sheet agreement for naphtha with NRL are in place. Major portion of land for the plant has been acquired and necessary environmental clearances both from state and centre have been obtained.
