Iran exports petrochemical and polymer products worth US$8.6 bln in FY 2010-11

Iran is reported to have exported about 12.920 million tons of petrochemical and polymer products worth approximately US$8.6 bln over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2010-March 20, 2011), PANA reported. Liquefied gases (propane, ethane), methanol and heavy cut were among major Iranian petrochemical products exported to various countries during the above mentioned period. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) was the main item of petrochemical exports with 2.39 million tons and over 20% of the total figure. Heavy cut exports increased considerably during the last Iranian year and ranked the second largest petrochemical products export in terms of weight. The product's exports hit 1.9 mln tons worth US$1.3 billion during this period. Methanol export with over 1.7 mln tons worth US$462 mln was the third main item after Liquefied Petroleum Gas and heavy cuts. (Copyright (c) 2011, Trend News Agency)
