No further action in Australia for imposing duties on LLDPE imports

07-Dec-09
Australian Customs & Border Protection Service (ACBPS) will take no further action on claims that Canadian and US resin producers have been selling linear low density polyethylene at below cost on the Australian market to deliberately disadvantage Melbourne-based plastics company Qenos Pty. Ltd. as per Plastics News. An investigation was commenced by ACBPS in May into the dumping claims following complaints from Qenos, Australia’s only LLDPE maker. ACBPS has concluded that there may have been dumping, but the industry is negligible.
