PS production at Terneuzen brought to halt by Dow

To combat soaring energy and hydrocarbon feedstock costs, Dow Europe Gmbh has brought to halt its production of polystyrene grade resins from July 21, 2008 at its Terneuzen plant in the Netherlands. However, the company will carry on operating its European polypropylene (PP) units at lowered rates. As per the company, such decisions along with price increments were imminent for bringing back the polystyrene business margins.
