Tosoh Corp has shut three vinyl chloride monomer plants at its Nanyo complex in Yamaguchi prefecture, after a fire at its No 2 VCM plant, as per Reuters. The fire lasted for around a day in which a male employee is missing.
Tosoh's Nanyo complex has a total annual capacity to produce 1.2 mln tpa - a third of the nation's total capacity of 3.52 mln tpa.
