World's biggest olefin complex to be unveiled by Iranian President

Jam Petrochemical Complex, world's biggest olefin complex and Farsa-Shimi complex will be officially inaugurated on 17 June in Asaluyeh. Jam Petrochemical unit has an annual production of 3.3 mln tons of ethylene, propylene, HDPE, LLDPE and other by-products. France's Technip, Germany's Krupp Uhde, Italy's Technimont, and Nargan and Sazeh companies from Iran are the major contractors of this project. Social Insurance Investment Company owns 25.8% stake, Iran's Retirement Fund Investment Company hold 24.5% stake, and the National Iranian Petrochemical Company holds 49.7% stake in the project. Feedstock requirement of the project will be 25,000 tons of ethane, propane, Butane, lighter products, raffinate, and heavier compounds to be supplied from Pars Petrochemical, Borzuyeh and South Pars complexes. Farsa-Shimi Company is to produce 440,000 tons of various types of ethylene glycol and it requires a feed of 256,000 tons of ethylene. The major contractors of this project are the Italian Technimont Company and the Iranian PEDEC (Petroleum Engineering Development Company).
