World's largest Injection Blow Moulding machine unveiled

27-Sep-08
US-headquartered Jomar Corporation, a global manufacturer of Injection Blow Molding (IBM) machinery has unveiled the world's largest IBM model named 'M-175' that emphasizes space, energy, and maintenance savings. The M-175 machine features 175 tons of perform clamp, with an ability to run high cavitation molds using standard Injection Blow Molding approved resins. It is extremely compact and offers a small footprint, a shut height of 10-14" (254-355 mm) and a maximum trigger bar of 49.25" (1,250.9 mm). The use of a vertical plastifier is the main reason that the M-175 uses significantly less energy in processing and thereby a smaller footprint. The M-175 is engineered to have fewer parts, resulting in less maintenance costs and increased uptime. It complies with all ANSI, OSHA, EC, and SPI safety standards. Jomar's M-175 produces higher quality containers through its integral microprocessor control including more uniform weight and wall thicknesses, more precise neck tolerances, greater impact strength, more consistent color, and glossier finishes. It produces a bottle in a single three-station operation with no need for trimming or deflashing thereby cuts the need for regranulation equipment. One multi-cavity IBM machine can typically replace two extrusion models.
