Acceptance by Union of survival plan in an effort to reverse decision by Ineos to close Grangemouth plant

28-Oct-13
The imminent shutdown of Ineos’ petrochemicals plant Grangemouth has been averted following a last-minute acceptance by the Unite union of a survival plan. This could help reverse a decision by owner Ineos to close the business. The agreement will see fuel production resume at the company's oil refinery after more than a week long shutdown. About £300 mln is expected to be spent on building a new gas terminal at the site.
