Internet users can now create colour formulations using an online "recipe" program making use of Match My Color (MMC). Four polymer matrices - PVC, PP, HDPE and ABS are already available on this site that was launched last week.
The site is believed to give smaller companies easy access to colour management software through which they can avail the services provided by MMC instead of having their own colour management software in-house. This is believed to reduce the cost of their colour matching operations by switching to this new web-based system, whose database contains a growing list of colourant suppliers. The customers also have the freedom to order physical samples of the formulations created on the site by them. A single user license is likely to cost about E60-300 per month.
MMC intends to introduce high impact polystyrene (HIPS), different types of PP and some thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) later in the course of the year.
