German injection molding machine manufacturer Arburg is expanding its electric Alldrive machine series in a logically consistent manner. At the 2009 Technology Days, visitors were presented with two new sizes -- Allrounder 270 A and 720 A -- which are a natural extension to the Allrounder A series at both ends of the size spectrum. This further broadens the range of applications for these energy-efficient electric machines, and makes the entire series even more flexible in its scope.
The new Allrounder 270 A is the smallest size in Arburg's range of electric machines. This model has a distance between tie bars of 270 x 270 millimetres, a clamping force of 350 kN and size 70 injection unit with a maximum shot weight of 21 g of PS. The Allrounder 270 A, with its small size 70 injection unit, is especially suitable for the production of small and micro-components.
At the upper end of the machine scale, the specifications of Allrounder 720 A include: a maximum clamping force of 3,200 kN and a size 800 injection unit, which offers a maximum shot weight of 434 g of PS. With this machine, large moulds can now also be used on the Allrounder A. The expansion of the Allrounder A series in the form of the Allrounder 720 A provides customers with larger installation dimensions for more complex moulds.
