BASF will increase the price for Polyamide polymer in North America by US$0.12 per pound, or as contracts allow, effective June 1, 2009. This increase covers neat resin for Polyamide 6 and copolymers. "During the past several months, raw material pricing for benzene and ammonia have rebounded from the recent lows in the fourth quarter of last year," said Mark Dobson, Business Director of BASF's Polyamide and Intermediates business in North America.
