Joining the ranks of Dow, DuPont and BASF, French company Arkema has also arrived at a decision to reduce output or temporarily shutter its plants in a bid to cope with deteriorating demand caused by global economic meltdown. As end user demand for several sectors, particularly automotive and constructions has been on the decline and even cancelled since the past 6 weeks, the company mulls temporary closure or reduction of production at up to 40 sites worldwide.
