Aromatics plant of ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Ltd to commence production by early July

ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Ltd (OMPL), the aromatics complex in Mangalore jointly promoted by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL), will begin production by the end of June or early July. Capacity will comprise 920,000 tpa of paraxylene and 283,000 tpa of benzene. The project is 99% complete and the company will be able to commission it in 20-30 days, sources told Business Line. Pre-commissioning activities are underway. The feedstock for OMPL will be supplied by the MRPL refinery in Mangalore.
