Rising demand for petrochemicals in Asia has provided a boost to Asahi Kasei Corp., as the group expects net profit to reach a record-high 59 billion yen on sales of 1.5 trillion yen, for 2005. This is vis a vis net profit of 56.4 billion yen on sales of 1.38 trillion yen in the previous business year.
