Negotiations between BASF AG and Dow Chemical Company are ongoing to build a 390,000 tons propylene oxide (PO) manufacturing facility in Map Ta Phut, Thailand.
The new plant will use the innovative hydrogen peroxide to propylene oxide technology jointly developed by Dow and BASF. Upon completion, the Dow/BASF HPPO in Thailand will be the second world-scale plant to use HPPO technology. The first is under construction in Antwerp, Belgium and is scheduled for start-up in early 2008.
