BASF AG is selling its PS business in the US and Canada to British-based chemical company INEOS.
The deal includes its production plant in Joliet, Ill. The Joliet PS facility has a total capacity of approximately 385,000 metric tpa and produces general-purpose polystyrene (GPPS) and high-impact polystyrene (HIPS). Nearly 140 employees will be transferred to INEOS.
