Bayer MaterialScience AG, global market leader for polyurethane, has plans to develop a global network of polyurethane system houses to tap new markets. Major applications for the polyurethane systems will be the automotive, domestic appliance and footwear industries. Polyurethane system houses provide ready-to-use polyurethane raw material systems for use in the manufacture of heat-insulating foams in the construction, cooling unit and hot water sectors and many special applications in the automotive, footwear and sports equipment industries. Bayer Jinling Polyurethane Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Bayer AG and Sinopec Jinling Petrochemical Corp. of Nanjing, China, has planned capacity expansion.
