In a bid to further extend its global network of polyurethane systems, Bayer MaterialScience has signed a contract for the acquisition of the Brahe a.s. systems house in the Czech Republic. The Czech company is to be integrated into the BaySystems network under the name BaySystems CentralEurope. Financial details of the transaction have not been released.
Brahe a.s. previously belonged to the T.P. Holding a.s. group of companies based in Prague, which has been a Bayer partner since the 1960s. The acquisition is part of Bayer MaterialScience response to the increasing importance of growth markets in central and Eastern Europe.
