A new biodegradable film, NatureFlex NVS, made from cellulose, has been designed used for packaging fresh foods that need to be chilled. This film provides improved dimensional stability under chill conditions, is biodegradable and compostable. The high gloss film with enhanced transparency has inherent anti-static properties and is semi permeable to moisture providing good anti-mist properties. NatureFlex NVS is currently available in 23 and 30 micron thickness.
The market for bio degradable packaging is predicted to grow by about 20% pa, as many end users switch to an alternative to petroleum-based packaging and packaging norms in get stricter.
