Borealis appoints official sales agent to target the North American automotive market

Borealis, a leading provider of innovative, value creating plastics solutions, has appointed Polymer Z as its official sales agent for the North American automotive market. This development emphasizes Borealis' commitment to becoming a leading player in advanced plastics solutions for the automotive market in North America. US-based Polymer Z, formed in 2004 will be responsible for market development and sales of Borealis' innovative automotive products in North America as well as for providing local customers with high-quality technical service, sales and marketing support. "This decision builds on our manufacturing and supply agreements with affiliates of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation and therefore underpins our strategy to grow our automotive business in North America," says Harald Hammer, Vice President of Borealis' business unit Mobility. Further, the company will develop new applications utilizing key Borealis innovative solutions for body panels, scratch-resistant materials, moulded in colour (MIC), exterior solutions (Daplen™ EF341AE being used in the world's first fully integrated fender module in the BMW X5 and BMW X6 series) and advanced polypropylene glass fibre composites for stressed car components.
