Borouge 3 facility ready for start-up in UAE

The new 1.5 mln tpa ethylene producing Borouge 3 cracker is set to deliver its first batch of commercial ethylene in the UAE by the end of May. Expanded at an investment outlay of around US$4 bln, the cracker has has been in a pre-commissioning phase the last eight weeks. Capacities comprise 540,000 tpa HDPE and 350,000 tpa LLDPE. 80,000 tpa of XLPE line is also planned along with two PP facilities producing a total of 960,000 tpa.
