Output of China's petrochemical industry has expanded by 34.9% year-on-year to 6.4 trillion yuan (US$1 trillion) in the first eight months of 2011, according to China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF). : The oil refining sector contributed 2.02 trillion yuan (up 30.6% yoy), the chemical industry contributed 4.2 trillion yuan, (up 37.1% yoy). All production indicators pointed to slower growth of the petrochemical industry from January to August.
Crude oil processed added only 6.6% yoy to 297.44 mln tons vs 13.4% in the same period of 2010.
Finished oil output rose 7% yoy to 176.56 mln tons, ethylene products increased 14.6% to 10.34 tons in January-August.
