CIMB Investment Bank Bhd is to be lead advisor for the initial public offering (IPO) of Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s (Petronas) petrochemical business. Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley will be the overseas banks that will play an advisory role in the IPO. The listing of Petronas’ petrochemical business is scheduled for end of 2010. Petronas has 19 companies in the petrochemical business, including BASF Petronas Chemicals Sdn Bhd and Optimal Olefins (M) Sdn Bhd.
