China's CNOOC and Royal Dutch Shell have agreed to double the capacity of a jointly owned ethylene plant in China's Guangdong province, as per Reuters. Under the agreement, the companies will boost the ethylene complex by 1 mln tons annually and will also add other downstream petrochemical units, raising the total ethylene capacity at Huizhou to 2 mln tpa, according to a joint release. The deal is pending final investment decisions and regulatory approval.
