The Evangeline Ethylene Pipeline is to resume full commercial operation by Wednesday, as per Boardwalk Pipeline Partners company source in Platts. A full return to maximum operating pressure (1336) is still dependent upon several factors including final in-line inspection reports and completion of all PHMSA corrective action order requirements.
The 176 mile pipeline has capacity to transport more than 1 million mt/year of ethylene from Texas to Louisiana. The pipeline has been down from October through December after the discovery of a small leak, and was initially cleared by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration to run at 80% capacity. In early January, an inspection tool got stuck in the line near Orange, Texas, causing further issues.
