Flooding caused by Typhoon Morakot in parts of Taiwan has rendered production cuts at several downstream plants across the country, including CPC Corp.’s naphtha cracker. Ethylene producing capacity at the state run petrochem major was reduced to 75% capacity, down from 95%. As no damages have been borne by CPC’s plants and refineries, the company has increased run rates by ten percent normalcy of its three naphtha cracker units.
