Crude oil prices plunged to one-month lows on fresh economic uncertainty sparked in the EU by indecisive Italian national elections. Brent North Sea crude for delivery in April sank to $US112.6, while crude on the Nymex slid to $US91.9.
Results of Italy’s national election have raised concerns that Europe's third largest economy may be heading for a hung parliament. Equities in Europe slumped and the euro hit a near two-month dollar low.
