Daelim Industrial has been awarded a contract for constructing Saudi Polymers Co. (SPC)'s downstream complex, which will include two 550,000 tpa polyethylene (PE) plants, a 400,000 tpa polypropylene (PP) plant and two 100,000 tpa polystyrene facilities. One of the PE units will be designed to produce high-density PE and the other linear low-density PE. Half of the propylene consumed at the planned PP plant and all of the styrene used at the PS units will be supplied by a Jubail Chevron Phillips complex that is nearing completion at Al Jubail.
