DuPont establishes Photovoltaic Solutions in India

Analysing India as a high potential market for solar energy growth, DuPont recently announced the business establishment of the firm's DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions (DPVS) in India. DPVS is a global supplier to the photovoltaic industry with the product portfolio comprising of the films, resins, encapsulant sheets, flexible substrates, and conductive pastes for both crystalline silicon and thin film modules. By 2010, the firm wishes to set up a photovoltaic lab at the DuPont Knowledge Center in Hyderabad in order to give technical and research assistance to the customers in India's Solar energy market. Besides, DuPont has expressed to augment the global production capacity of its high performance Tedlar films by two times, which are a part of DuPont's flouropolymer family. However, the plan is in its initial stage with the company examining the site and scope of the expansion. The details of location and investment are not yet known; but this is slated to be highest capital outlay for Tedlar.
