GAIL plans capacity increase at Pata

State-run gas utility GAIL (India) Ltd. plans to increase capacity at its of 4,10,000 tpa Pata plant. As per latest plans, the major plans to further augment the capacity to 5,00,000 tpa gradually going up to 8,00,000 tpa. A time-frame and investments have not been specified for the capacity expansion. Expansion to 5,00,000 tons may take about a year and the time-frame for expanding capacity to 8,00,000 tons will be decided by the board. GAIL is looking to set up a mega petrochemical plant along with a private firm in North Asia and Central Asian states, Choubey said but did not reveal the name of the private firm. Officials, however, identified the company as Reliance Industries.
