Taiwan’s state-run CPC Corp. plans to restart the No.3 naphtha cracker in Kaohsiung earlier than planned to meet a the deficient supply caused by improving demand in the region. The restart of the 230,000 tpa ethylene cracker that was caused by deteriorating demand on April 1, is planned by May 10. Operations at the plant that were scheduled to recommence by end of next month, will start about 2-3 weeks earlier as an ethylene and propylene supply dearth has been caused by the delay of plant start ups in the Middle East.
