Eastman's BPA-free Tritan™ copolyester replaces PC in a new serving ware line

31-Mar-09
Eastman Chemical Company's Tritan™ copolyester will replace polycarbonate and styrene based copolymers to manufacture Cox Culinary Emporium's (US) new line of serving ware due to clarity, toughness, heat and chemical resistance. Cox Culinary Emporium required a material devoid of bisphenol-A (BPA) while maintaining its high clarity, durability even after dishwashing and design flexibility. The company says Eastman Tritan™ copolyester offers a durable product that can be used at backyard pool parties or elegant cocktail hours without the fear of breaking. Additionally, because the reusable serving ware is made with Tritan, it can withstand the high heat and chemicals used in commercial and at-home dishwashing.
